Following a visit in 1985, Ian Smith saw the future potential of North Cyprus as a perfect location for owning an ideal retirement or holiday home. He subsequently moved his business to Girne (Kyrenia) where he established a real estate and construction company. The opportunities that presented themselves convinced Ian Smith that his move was a wise one and coupled with the goodwill and support of the Turkish Cypriot people, along with Ian’s daughter and son-in-law who joined him, made expansion a natural progression, making Ian Smith Estates the reputable company it is today.
In recent years joint ventures have been entered into with investors from the UK, Israel, Turkey and North Cyprus.
Attention to detail and an honest code of ethics towards both clients and partners have resulted in the company rightly claiming leadership in the general field of property and real estate.

Kate Ozikiz (Smith) the driving force behind the company. Kate joined the family business in 2000 and has strived to maintain Ians superb reputation. Kate worked her way up through the company and has gained a vast knowledge of all TRNC property matters. Being bilingual, Kate deals with the day to day running of the office and is always on hand to deal with any after sales matters.
Osman Ozikiz, married to Kate, also joined the company in 2000 and has proved to be the “man in the know” when it comes to any issues relating to TRNC administration! Oz deals with all our property transfers and is an expert on the workings of the Tax Office, Land Registry, Town Planning, and any other authority relevant to Property.
Jacqui Ashworth, our loyal office manager for over 13 years has exceptional people skills and is unfailingly efficient and helpful in all matters of property - from after sales to valuations and rentals.
